Coping Skills Through Counseling with me, Deann, are focused on mastering how to manage stress exercises and emotional problems better. I will structure the sessions to help uncover what stressors you, plus develop coping mechanisms and resilience. Some clients find that mental wellness can be improved with a mind/body approach, including meditation, guided imagery, visualization, and even nutrition guidance and management. This can help encourage a person’s overall health in mind and body and to help achieve their therapeutic goals.
Deann is experienced in the holistic approach to mental clarity through a mix of yoga and aerobic and cardio workouts, guided imagery, and deep breathing techniques. Yoga helps achieve relaxation as well as manage anxiety or anger. For clients that require a gentler restorative yoga, Deann is educated in a chair yoga approach to incorporate breathwork and light stretching. She is a Nationally Certified Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance-200 HYT.
Nutrition plays an integral part in emotional expression. Understanding how your gut and brain are connected provides insight into the developing personal growth of a client. As a Certified Fitness Specialist through the Cooper Institute of Aerobic Research, Deann assesses body max index and provides an individual workout plan, as well as assisting in monitoring adherence to the personalized plan to encourage client wellness.
